RE: Survey Shows Leftists Are More Likely To Have Mental Illnesses, Far Left Being The WORST
Shocker. Who would have thought that a group displying emotionalism, warped priorities, fixation on fringe issues, boogeyman paranoia and denial of reality could have higher rates of mental illness? Nobody could have predicted this. Nobody.

And who would have thought that a group displaying emotionalism, warped priorities, fixation on fringe issues, boogeyman paranoia and denial of reality would falsely claim that it's progressives and liberals have those traits instead of them. Truly astounding.

The vantablack pot is calling the aluminium kettle “n***er”.
As @Creativerealms said, wingnuts are far less likely to seek diagnosis for and admit to having mental health issues. I also suspect that, in most cases, the problems are completely irrelevant to politics.
Of course, maybe it’s actually true. Well, that means you don’t have the excuse of insanity. You are simply wilfully ignorant, arrogant, dedicatedly wrong, utterly evil arseholes.
And, of course, in addition to what the others have already mentioned, the thought that they may be misunderstanding the order of causation of events in this case, and it might be simply that mentally ill people are naturally drawn to political movements which favor more help for people like them, and expanding of social security and strengthening the social safety net in general, doesn’t even cross their mind.
Oh, so people “on the left” - who believe in social justice must be mentally ill, diagnosed by RWNJs who know nothing about psychiatry, and use such terms as playground insults. How sinister.

They even see heroic soldiers who survived being POWs or who gave their lives for their comrades against an IED as weaklings (though in the latter case, the hero soldier being a Muslim and swarthy also had something to do with it).
The Far-Right worship their idea of a soldier: An indestructible 1980s Action Movie hero.
I don’t doubt that people who have been diagnosed and are being treated for mental illnesses are more left leaning than the general population. Given that many conservatives view mental illness as something horrible to be shunned or ignored, I suspect that if you could somehow take a survey of people with mental illness who haven’t been diagnosed/aren’t being treated, it would be a largely conservative population.

I think the more worrisome bit is that to them, the Boring Invincible Hero is the proper standard precisely because he’s (putatively) perfect. I don’t remember if this kind of national standard is on Umberto Eco’s list of ur-fascist traits.
Granted the BIH has a good deal of literary legacy, at least all the way back to Marduk (not sure why the Enuma Elish bothered to show him inventing those new weapons when he only needed his winds to defeat Tiamat...Did the poet forget to have the other Anunnaki use them to defeat Tiamat’s progeny?), and is probably more about overawing any rivals by proxy than actual artistry. Too bad, because I’m wondering if the Enuma Elish might have room for an Alternative Character Interpretation about who the actual villain is.
Not Tiamat. Not Apsu. Not Marduk.
Qingu , who helped start the whole conflict in the first place with his encouragement of Apsu and Tiamat to attack the Anunnaki, likely to get the Tablets of Destiny for himself. For even more fun, his name translates to “unspecialized worker”. The Greek of the same is “Demiurgos”...
Confused?
