How do you define “child molester”?
Someone who makes sexual advances toward a youth who is unwilling or unable to consent. (“Consent” being defined according to common sense, rather than any legal age limits.)

So basically, nothing is abuse unless the child says “no”?
Or unless he’s incapacitated or drugged, or so ignorant about sex that his consent is meaningless. Same standard as I’d apply to anyone else, regardless of age

What you propose is reckless endangerment of kids at the hands of abusers, rapists, and molesters in the name of some cheap kicks for a few.
Nonsense. What I propose is allowing minors to make their own decisions about their own bodies. I do not condone abuse or coercion.

There are reasons that the age of consent has been established and your being erect does not make them go away.
The straightdope forums were truly the wild,wild West in its earlier days. Back then you could see nutters, unironic rape apologists and pedos/NAMBLA advocates openly spewing propaganda like this with zero consequences.
There was even a pedo on the site who felt children could consent and openly advocated for adults to have sex with literal children (even younger than 13) , and it was allowed on the site. If anything people who were uncomfortable with it got dogpiled.
There were even people who said that they would let an open pedo (even one like the one mentioned above) be alone their children for extended periods of time because “thought crime". Many said that they would not even report a pedo coworker who admitted to wanting to have sex with the babies/toddlers that he in his care at a nursery.

Without laws, how do you properly deal with the issue? Vigilante justice? How can you count on that? What about the issue of ignorance and having do deal with those without boundaries? And where should victims of abuse seek help, if there's no legitimate, easy to access structure for that, which can also be expected to evaluate the situation and necessary measures to take, for the protection of victims and also to deal with the perpetrator appropriately depending on the situation?
I fucking can’t stand these people. They treat child abuse like it’s something minor or a joke. They trivialize it because they want to have sex with children but experience no consequences. But they’re totally fine with the child experiences the consequences of whatever the adult did to them.
They also treat age of consent laws like they’re something unimportant or even arbitrary, and I’ve seen them frequently use the fucking Middle Ages in Europe as examples of ‘see? Men back then were allowed to have sex with children and all they had to do is marry the girl after!!’ And then they treat thst as a winning position all the while never mentioning that face that the girl/young women that the man had sex with or chose to force into marriage suddenly faced the prospect of marriage to a man much older than her that she possibly didn’t like and/or was afraid of, and a life of almost constant pregnancy and extremely dangerous labor with very little medical care, only to be held solely responsible if she has a child of a gender that the man didn’t want.
They are so fucking selfish that it never occurs to them that their actions and opinions make it harder for girls/young women today to report abuse. And even if it did occur to them, they might not even care. I mean, Charlie Kirk, patron saint of MAGA, said he absolutely would allow his 10-year-old daughter to have a child if she was raped,

OK, then one of these guys (and they’re mostly guys, right?) needs to actually say just WHAT the definition “unable to consent” if it’s not by age. Do you feel you’re qualified to judge that in every case? I’ve known some teenagers who seemed a lot more “mature” to me than some adults I have known, but what I wonder is who’s making that call, legally? Doesn’t it seem like a lot simpler of a thing just have an “age of consent”? (even though some teenagers might have the maturity to do that?)
