I am the parent of a trans identified child and I have written new words to go to the tune of a family favorite from “The Sound of Music”. I hope readers will share their own verses.

Beardos and weirdos and fatties and trannies
“Admirals” dolled up like somebody’s granny
Synthetic sex IDs tied up with strings
These are a few of my least favorite things

Doctors and teachers and priests I once trusted
Fraudulent billing codes, hospitals busted
Creepy striped flags over K-5 schools
These are the works of delusional fools

Global thought-leaders: “it’s just my opinion”
Wolves in white lab coats, they’re Lucifer’s minions
Madness wins out over prudence and care
“What is a woman?” “A man with long hair!”

When the roids hit
When the knife stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember the the Nuremberg Trials

And then I don’t feel so bad
