Media members don’t see Babbitt and whites like her as fellow human beings. Worse, they can’t seem to get their pretzel logic around having an understanding that Babbitt has family members devastated to learn that their loved one had been killed. Instead, story-after-story has time-and-time-again added editorial “dressing” to all successive news reports.

I’m white, proud of my heritage, and proud of young patriots like Ashli Babbitt. I hope that in laying her life down, it leads to more of us committing to pushing back against a system and a corrupt government that hates us and wants us dead.

If she didn't want to get shot, she shouldn't have tried to break into the capitol building.
Don't fucking talk to me about whiteness and heritage.

You have to understand though, she’s really very, VERY sensitive to, and wants to preserve the white southerner traditions of incest, cannibalism, and murder!

Thing is, Babbitt was one of the fellow human beings who rioted, storming the Capitol, on Jan 6. Behaving like spoiled little children throwing a tantrum because this time, the answer was “No! THIS time, you CAN’T have what you want!”

I do see her as a human being. I also see her as a f*cking piece-of-shit domestic terrorist who got what was coming to her. Those aren’t mutually exclusive.

And that’s the problem. As long as your kind (alt-right) keep glorifying blatant domestic terrorists as “proud patriots”, they’ll never start realizing they’re wrong. If she was truly a proud patriot, she would have fought to uphold the friggin’ constitution (like the cop that died there) rather than attempt an insurrection to place a dictator in power.
"I’m white, proud of my heritage, and proud of young patriots like Ashli Babbitt."
Hmmm. _I_ am white. My heritage includes the Mayflower, and immigrants a mere 4 generations before me. I also served the the military, just like Ashli. Took the same oath she did yo protect the same Constitution
And i would have shot her dead at the same place, if i were that guard.
It's not patriotism to try to overturn an election by force. There were, what, 58 court cases? And no evidence of fraud produced in any one of them. Shd was gaslit, and i hope prosecution gets tge gaslighters, too, but she was not a patriot.
I’m white, proud of my heritage
I am white, and I guess I’m “proud of my heritage” as much as I can be “proud” of something I had no part in choosing. But “white” is just such a nebulous concept, what does it even mean? WOOHOO, you’re of Northern European descent. Join the fuckin crowd.
Oh, don’t play the reverse racism card! She was involved in a crowd attempting to breach a government building, during an insurrection, who kept smashing at the glass to try and get in. What were the guards supposed to do? I don’t think shooting over the terrorists’ heads, or using rubber bullets, would have worked.
She received a lot more warning than some black shooting victims have.
In the meantime there was another attack on Capitol Hill but rather than the local police falling into a constant retreat unwilling to harm a fellow American the attacker was promptly shot dead without a word of fuss about being gunned down for his "patriotism" in the post mortem.
Being a lone black man rather than a white lynch mob sure makes a world of difference in both the immediate police response and the subsequent follow-through procedure... Not to mention your eulogy even though you both set out to do the same thing and both killed someone in the process. At least he never got close enough to loot the furniture and kept his feces to himself.
Well, I’m not a citizen of your fantasy land but even I know that she was a whackjob conspiracy theory loony who, despite have sworn an oath to protect your Constitution, believed that invading the Capitol, killing police officers and leaving shit smeared over the walls in an attempt to overthrow your legally-elected government was a reasonable, brave and patriotic thing to do.
Confused?
