Your “historic icons and monuments” are of traitors and losers. Most were erected in the early 20th century, not immediately after the end of Civil War. Actually, the time from the end of the War and the erection of most monuments was less than the time from the end of WWII to now, so maybe it’ll be OK for Germans to start erecting monuments to their icons like Hitler, Goring, Himmler, Rommel, etc. Unfortunately, I suspect that you would probably support that too.

Well, it’s not in the US except in nudist camps, but is in some cultures such as Japan and early Rome. Maybe if our kids received rational sex education as they grew up, they’d realize that nudity does not equal sex and it’s possible to view nude people without becoming aroused. There are nude beaches in Europe, but you don’t see complaints about runaway rape and fornication on them. We all have individual differences in our faces and other body parts, including genitalia, but we all have pretty much the same basic equipment. One of the realizations in various sex studies is that repeated exposure to porn results in boredom. Try it yourself – look at the last 10 years of Playboy centerfolds in an hour and you’ll find the parade of breasts and vulvas tiresome.

OK, both are children and deserve care. I don’t hear you stepping up to pay for the extensive care the 10-year-old would need. Even if she survived through the entire pregnancy, she’s still likely to require additional medical care for some time, and may never be able to have children again. The fetus/baby would undoubtedly need additional medical care, plus the cost of raising any child to the age of 18. Do you I hear you offering to adopt? Have you already adopted other unwanted babies carried to term? If not, why not? Be careful how you answer, because many of the excuses I’ve heard from you hypocrites are exactly the same ones used by women seeking abortion, namely “can’t afford a(nother) child right now,” “it doesn’t fit my current lifestyle,” “I’m single and can’t manage raising a child,” “I’m too old to start caring for a baby,” “I wouldn’t be able to finish my degree and get the job I want,” “the birth control failed and I’m just not ready.” Same song, not even a different verse.

Similar situation here: both over 30 when we married, 39th anniversary Saturday. Only one child, but that’s largely because she was seriously injured in an accident 6 months after we were married. Five siblings, all of whom were at least 25 when they married, none of whom are divorced, and all of whom have passed their 30th anniversaries. AFIK, none of them were virgins when they married. I actually feel sorry for two virgins on their wedding night, because both of them are almost certainly going to be disappointed.

My friends and I used to play the “what if” game late night in college, and it was interesting to consider what some small change would make to history. As far as becoming a Christian nation, what makes you so sure that it will be your particular cult that will be in charge? Do you want the Southern Baptists in charge, or the Presbyterians? Episcopalians, maybe? I know your lot often say Catholics aren’t real Christians, but they outnumber you, so may be in charge soon. The main reason we’ve had religious freedom, at least until recently, is mutual deterrence: none of you can agree on what constitutes True Christianity and no group has been able to garner enough members to force the other groups to leave.
