“A work of art cannot be created by a non-deliberate or natural or blind because art is deliberate, insightful, meaningful.”
Nonsense. You’ve never heard of ‘found art’? Like trash left on the road and driven into the tarmac by passing tires?
Or a beautiful sunset? Or a picture taken of a beautiful sunset? The insight and meaning is inside the head of the observer.
And that goes for all art. If I have a deliberate meaning in a portrait i paint, but no one ever gets the meaning, is it still art? I mean, as a means of conveying an idea, i apparently suck, but that doesn’t make it any less art.
“If it comes into my mind from somewhere, that someone from whence it comes cannot be my mind,”
It’s entirely your mind.
If someone speaks to you, your mind uses the sounds to construct an idea.
But if they speak in a language you don’t understand, then you do not construct the intended idea.
“but it has to be something like a mind, something (or, rather, someone) who is conscious and capable of artistic creative thought.”
But the photographer does not create the sunset, he just appreciates it and makes it available to me. That does not require a mind to have created the sunset.
“The unconscious mind does not think since thought is consciousness: the two words mean the same thing.”
Completely wrong.
“The only two possibilities are that these inspired thoughts arise in me from a human mind or a divine one.”
I’d say you need to prove that divine minds even exist before that becomes one of the possible conclusions. Can you?
“If it were a human mind, there would be a physical cable or channel physically carrying the nerve impulses into my brain. Which is absurd. Therefore, etc., QED.”
Interesting. There’ sno cable running into my mind but I do get the idea that you’ve established that you’re a self-important horse’s ass. Unless you feel that only a god could put that idea in my head?
