“Dear full blown atheist,”
Twenty quatloos that you’re about to grossly misdefine atheism…
“I know there is a lot of science out there, but can atheists really fully believe that the cosmos so perfectly supports such a huge and diverse variety of life as a result of random chance?”
Safe bet, wasn’t it?
Atheism is about god. Cosmology is about how the universe works and came to be. You don’t have to be an atheist to accept the science for the cosmos and the big bang AND all the various laws concerning the way matter and energy interact. It’s not ‘the result of random chance.’
Like, if i flip a coin, the results are not totally random. It can land heads, or tails, or on the edge, or in another dimension. The odds are that it’ll be heads or tails. Because while there is some element of random chance involved, that’s not the ONLY force.
“Doesn't it seem like this was created to work from the get go?”
So, no evidence for your position, just an appeal to emotions? Impressions?
Well, it appears that there used to be a planet between Mars and Jupiter. If it was designed, then the designer fucked up, huh?
“Rather than random chance life appearing from nowhere and evolving and adapting to survive?”
Again, there are random elements, but life appearing actually looks to be almost inevitable in some respects.
