Actually, marijuana was illegal since the early 20th century because of racism. After the Mexican Revolution, large amounts of Mexicans moved into the US, bringing the tradition of smoking marijuana. This triggered racist assholes (one claim was that it caused a thirst for blood) with one called Harry J. Anslinger starting to campaign to have it banned at the Federal level. It succeeded, though ruled unconstitutional in 1969. The following year, marijuana was reillegalized by the Controlled Substances Act.

Why would a non belief in god equal your girlfriend not thinking you're awesome? Why would she be your girlfriend then if she doesn't like/love you?

How is that different from taking your parent's beliefs or your pastors' beliefs? That's just as square and it's really not that radical (hello fellow kids) since ~75% have some kind of belief in god. People wanting to fit in or following an admired role model has been around a long, long time.

These are stupid reasons.
