And, I mean: hollow earth has this pulp-y Jules Verne feel to it. And they have all these civilisations in there, and connections to real-world mythologies. Sure, it is rather cheesy, but that's kinda part of charme for me.

What do the flat earthers have? What do they say if you ask them what's on the flip side of the plate, or outside of the rim? Or over the sky dome. Have never seen any answers to that.

The strangest thing about this whole Qackery is that here, the Trumpsters suddenly care about children. They couldn't give less fucks about immigrant children being separated from their parents, they are against health care, the only "children" they cared about before were fetuses.

I have to agree with this one at least in parts: I see no way how the situation could improve without collapsing first, at least not in merica. Trump is just a symptom of a horrible system, and seeing how much it resists any change into the sane direction (like healthcare), I'd wager it will persist until the bitter end.

Maybe the actual civilized world will survive it, but climate change is still coming, shit's still going to hit the fan.

I googled melanin and found that there is neuromelanin, which is a similar molecule to the "normal" eumelanin, but occurs in neurons. It's unknown what it does; I think if it was a neurotransmitter, they would have noticed.

Only after that I read the comments. The moron confusing melanin and melatonin is the more likely explanation. But even then, melatonin is a hormone, still not a neurotransmitter :D

In southern Germany, I do remember having white christmas 10 years ago or so. But the last few years, Christmas has been rather warm. Last year, it snowed exactly once, and melted right away. Hasn't snowed since.

Now, we usually get a few weeks of cold winter with snow in February.
