Absolutely agree with your sentiment. Just a correction for the benefit of anyone reading this: gender identity and sexuality are different aspects of one’s identity. Transpeople’s sexualities are in the same space of homo-, pan- bi-, hetero- etc. as cispeople’s. Transness being connected to sexuality (as in the old term “transsexual”) is misleading and damaging in the same (but not as bad) way as the TERF’s favourite pseudoscientific concept autogynephilia.

The tiny seed of truth here is that Keffals is not the only one responsible for taking the site down. Her refusal to be silent about her ongoing harassment caused others who had been targeted to speak out and a group of people with professional skills coalesced behind her. Keffals was the voice of the group and the brave visible figurehead who took on the harassment campaign directly but it was the work of this entire group that took down Kiwifarms. The scum there had earned a lot of enemies who leaped at the chance to pay back and stop them from causing more harm.

Tate is obfuscating the fact that he has openly said he chose Romania because of lax rape laws and corrupted police that can be bribed to look the other way. He has also bragged about pressuring his girlfriends to sex work and taking the money they earn because a woman and her genitals belong to the man she dates. In his case it is not a bigoted suspicion, it is grounded on things he himself has said about his motives.

Rowling made the goblins not just greedy but bankers. Even without that additional step the similarity between the greedy goblins of folklore and the antisemitic stereotype is something a writer should be aware of and present goblins in a way that avoids this connection. As a writer it is her responsibility to think through how the message she is sending is read by a modern audience. If you do something like this accidentally the proper response is to acknowledge it, apologize and make sure the mistake is avoided in future stories and adaptations.

My mother worked in elder care (she’s now retired) and the worker’s gender does not matter at all. When the profession started getting male workers they did from the beginning the same work as the female workers regardless of the client’s gender. Cis male workers take care of the elderly women just as well as other workers: when washing the elderly the workers are fully clothed and not doing anything sexual.

If a demented client who is not completely responsible for their behavior anymore was emotionally disturbed by a transperson helping them they could just be assigned to some other worker.
