The real answer is because we all come from a common ancestor and ours and the pigs is not that far of since we both are mammals

God obviously didn’t think to provide humans with medical knowledge already in place, eliminating the need for medical studies.

Gee I wonder why. It certainly can’t be because we all descend from a common ancestor millions of years ago. *paint blistering sarcasm*

But… We had to study a LOT of animals, AND HUMANS, to find areas of commonality and difference. If God was providing it, why didn’t He mention it somewhere? “And lo, the heart of the swine is compatible to humans, but not until you master cardiology. So, just mark that down for right now.”

Reminds me about Pangloss’s speech to Candide about “optimism”, where he use, as evidence for a providence, the fact man have noses which can be used to wear glasses.

There are some aspects of porcine biology, particularly in the GI tract, which are remarkably similar to humans, moreso than humans are to apes. This is probably convergent evolution, as humans and pigs are both extreme omnivores.

…Probably. There’s a hypothesis that the first proto-hominid was born from a wild boar and an ape, and all of the later generations crossbred with apes. Wildly unlikely, though “impossible” hybrids have happened, albeit rare in the extreme…
