The Colorado Supreme Court taking Trump off the ballot is the latest political warfare from the Left. Legally speaking, Trump hasn’t been charged with insurrection, and was cleared in the Senate on that exact question. Politically, you’d think the Democrats would learn their lesson. Every time they attack Trump he skyrockets in the polls.

He was removed as per 14th amendment

As I said if you are being investigated for insurrection that should be enough for you to be removed from elections via the 14th amendment until your innocence is proven otherwise.

No, he was not cleared. They did not disprove the charge, just the republicans chose not to kick him out over it.
It’s a political process, not a criminal trial.

This was done by Republicans and with a Republican appointed judge.

All it takes is the SCOTUS to uphold such. That decision in Colorado being the precedent. What was tried a couple of years ago: and where.

Since at least a few of these idiots have been bringing up double jeopardy: While the Senate does hold “removal trials”, it does not count as a trial in the legal sense. No one is charged with a crime. There is limited (and usually indirect) involvement with the legal system. Being removed from office does not result in a criminal record, and is more like being fired and blacklisted that anything else. In theory this is little different from being sued for damages despite being given a verdict of “not guilty” even if they involve the same actions or events; the Senate Trials are about personal conduct, not about guilt in a legal sense.

More from the DJT Cult of Personality: “Trump can do no wrong! Any criminal charges or indictments against him are ALWAYS a politically motivated WITCH HUNT! ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!” That’s why they think taking Biden off the ballot anywhere would be measure for measure.

The last time the Insurrection cluase was invoked, some of the Confederate officials involved were never charged with treason. After 1869, they were even pardoned yet these disabilities lasted until the 1890s, when Congress removed these; in the 1970s, it was Jefferson Davis and Robert Lee who recovered their US citizenship.
