Was it cyber attack that shut off ship’s power & suddenly steered it straight towards bridge? I’ve never heard of either of those happening before, let alone both. One ship disaster happens to badly harm supply chain, shipping & inflation for entire USA?

You realize that’s still smaller-scale than when the Ever Given got jammed in the Suez Canal and made worldwide trade (United States included) stickier, yes? Still just one ship, no wrecked infrastructure that time, and yet…
What would Russia or China want to do this for, anyway, especially since they’d be more interested in hogging Pacific trade than Atlantic? Russia diverting our resources to make a recapture of Alaska easier???

Because if they admit to the reality and inevitability of coincidences, their faith in their beliefs will crumble. Evil conspiracies have to exist in order for them to blame those conspirators for whatever is wrong. Without an enemy -- communists, immigrants, Satan -- these people would have to confront the fact that chaos rules and the universe doesn't care.
Hatred they can handle. The cold empty indifference of the real world is far more terrifying.
