“The impolite reality (also in some sense conciliatory) is that something like a quarter of people under thirty are all trooned out”
That’s not impolite, dickhead, that’s an actual slur. You’ve just marked your entire post with a footnote: Bigotry.
“Broken beyond repair by a culture that has totally abandoned them and pulled the rug out from underneath their feet.”
Looks to me like the opposite. We’ve had transgendered people as long as we’ve had people. For the most part, for most of history, they’ve been ignored and free to do their thing. Now, suddenly it’s a topic of discussion and they can see just how much support they have to do their thing. And we can all see just how fucking ignorant their critics are on the topic. They’re not abandoned.
“There is nothing to ground them.”
Except over a century of science in what makes someone transgendered, that’s all.
“Nothing to tether them to reality.”
Except the reality. Like I said, the ignorance of the critics…
“Just the empty, atomized hellscape of the Current Year. The idea of a normal life seems too far out of reach to ever be realized and so they retreat into bitter, spiteful troonery—the mangled, beaten down soul flailing to escape its material circumstances.”
Very colorful. More bigotry, but I hope YOU feel better for lashing out.
Also, may I say, there’s no such thing as a normal life. It’s an imaginary ideal that is WAY too narrow for reality.
"It is pure, perverse nihilism whatever stated beliefs get mapped on top of it.”
So, my brain chemistry doesn’t agree with my penis, therefore all morality is a scam? How surprising.
“This takes many forms, including political ones, but its enemy is always the same: normal, well-adjusted people who refuse to indulge their deranged fantasies.”
Odd hill to die on if you’re a ‘well-adjusted’ member of our society. MY outlook is that something that doesn’t affect me in any goddamned motherfucking way is not my business.
“Like rabid animals they need to be removed from public life.”
I would think that Karens who insist they are the ones to define public life would make public life better by being removed, but that’s me.
