The TV watchers will be terrified of monkey pox but not scared of evolving from monkeys?

Those scared to have evolved from monkeys are the ones still in the transition period.
Don't worry, the feeling will pass.
But it turns out, humans were monkeys all along!
Oooooooo, scaaaary!
*Apes, humans included, evolved from monkeys. Just like how all snakes are reptiles, having evolved from an earlier ancestor, so humans are monkeys. We certainly didn't evolve from any extant monkey, as the YEC's often strawman.*
But seriously, why wouldn't someone be at least wary of a spreading virulent infection? The change in allele frequency over time is... you know. Just normal.
From what I understood, the existing pox vaccine works against this variant. So, only wingnuts like you will be getting it.
Edit: why are you using “TV Watchers” like a slur? TV also includes foxnews. Or is this a form of “it’s not a religion, it’s a relationship”?
“The TV watchers will be terrified of monkey pox"
When the weatherman on TV says it’s 2 degrees outside, i wear a coat. Do you think i’m terrified of being cold? How about getting my brakes checked every year? Do you think taking precautions is ‘terror’ based?
OOOH! I brush my teeth! I’m fucking PARALYZED by plaque!
Now, let me tell you about my insulin regimen… And iron supplement. And low-voltage aspirin. Who needs a horror movie when you can visit a doctor!?!?!
“but not scared of evolving from monkeys?”
What the fuck goes on in your brain that you think the two are connected?
If, like you, "tv watchers" don't understand evolution they may be scared of evolution. But a person with at least middle, if not high echool education won't be scared

I have a hunch it implies that we’re not a discrete and Special (tm) creation like the cherubim probably were. Or maybe cherubim descended from the same stock as harpy eagles, ha ha. (“Cherub” and “gryphon” seem to come from the same linguistic root.) The fear is likely that if our existence wasn’t completely foreplanned, then God won’t put our glory and well-being at top priority No Matter What.
Evolving from the common ancestor of monkeys and humans does us no harm. It's just a fact of life.
Monkeypox, however, is related to smallpox and has a mortality rate between 1% and 15%, higher for children. It could do a lot of harm.
Although if you've been vaccinated for smallpox, that should protect you.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
