It’s in our best interests because Russia is attacking our allies and we can’t fight back directly. Our allies have mutually beneficial relationships with us, and if we abandon them when they are subjected to unprovoked invasions, we lose our end of the benefits.

But what do I know? I’m a Democrat.

I guess the Republican answer could be that a NATO Ukraine could buy US military technology, which would be good for business for the Military-Industrial Complex and thus in the nation's best interest.
