And the shooter in this case died quickly thereafter, after being hunted down.
That was back in the 20th century. Things have only advanced further. We have drones now. And if you guys really made a ruckus well…a drone could give you a fine parting gift.
In that well, it would part you.
“Disclaimer: The above cartoon is intended to be enjoyed as a work of comedy and political expression and does NOT represent incitement to, or endorsement of, any form of violence or insurrectionary activity either in real life or in Minecraft.” Quote from below the comic. I kinda understand (note that I don’t agree with it, mind you) the idea that “firearms are necessary because what if the government turns against us.” Yet here, A. he is arguing against his right-wing position by showing the dangers of guns, or B. He thinks the assassination was funny. Just because you can say things doesn’t make it good or funny.
So....it enables a terrorist to assassinate a president? While it was a joke, tasteless but a joke nonetheless, I doubt Secret Service would take it as such. Especially after 6 January. From one second and even fist amendment advocate to another: you might want to take this down. Not just because it's in bad taste.
This is how you create a short-term disruption and end up either tortured in a CIA black site or splattered by a missile drone, regardless of whether you successfully kill the president or other important political figure. And maybe get a lot of your “friends” rounded up, too. It won’t score you anything other than martyrdom and maybe a meaningless symbolic victory.
I should’ve said this earlier:
Yeah, I know it’s a joke. However, considering the fanaticism of the Trumpies, it’s a particularly dangerous and irresponsible joke, disclaimer or not.
...ah: so after your use of say... a 5.56mm AR-15 - just as Oswald did with a 6.5mm Carcano 91/38 - you're later shot by the 21st Century equivalent of Jack Ruby, eh Tosser?!
Ever heard of the phrase 'Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it'...?!
What everyone else here said, I say.
Also, I’m happy to see that others are describing the weirdos in Boulderbarf’s comics as “duck-people” because I’ve been saying that for a while.
The gay ones with the colorful swirly heads look like Dairy Queen ice cream cones.
I thank the person who led me to this blog that skewers Pebblepush’s dumb insults to art (occasionally there’s a skewering of others like Ben Garrison)…

…It’s awesome. I even commented there a few times (I’m ‘Julie’).
Here’s the comic we’re commenting on…

…With the blogger’s own opinions and refuting of it.
And command of the tanks, missles, drones, etc. transfer to the next link in the chain. Who now have beef with you.
You're not about defying tyranny, you think violence gives you a means of stepping over the masses.
It's a fact about Mr. Pebbleyeet, though....he tries to say he's not a Nazi or whatever... but if you look at enough of his comics, you know, he only draws noses on some kinda people...
In speaking of all things “Dead Kennedy”, I recently learned about a prank on Twitter where a reporter for The Intercept and the Nation named Ken Klippenstein trolled Matt Goetz, Dinesh D’Souza and Matt Schlapp on Memorial Day where he tweeted a “tribute” to his “Grandfather” using an old photo of Lee Harvey Oswald when he was in the Marines.
The wingnuts fell for it! LOL! They ended up tricked into honoring Kennedy’s assassin!…

… When the truth emerged, those chunkheads backtracked and Candace Owens (the Right’s resident Auntie Ruckus) got mad and assumed someone photoshopped Oswald’s face onto the soldier’s head (because she can’t wrap her head around the fact that US soldiers can become weirdos who murder US presidents… or maybe she didn’t know Oswald was a soldier, first).
I do confess that Oswald made for a cute soldier… but he was still a terrible person.
I’d love to see someone pull this again…

… with Jeffrey Dahmer’s old Army portrait.
And these wingnuts constantly fall for this prank. There was a similar one where someone used a photo of Fred & Rose West (an especially sickening Serial Killer couple from Britain) and the target was no one the wiser.
Klippenstein has done this a lot…

… Here’s an article about the Oswald prank and the background of Journalist Ken Klippenstein and his love of pranking political miscreants.
A previous prank involved a screencap of JACK NICHOLSON in his A Few Good Men role, and Steve King was dumb enough to fall for it since he apparently is too stupid to recognize Nicholson (who’s very recognizable).
Confused?
