People keep staying black people are killed for these small crimes like counterfeit money or whatever, but that’s a deliberate (hopefully because otherwise it’s really dumb) misinterpretation. They’re killed for putting officers’ lives at risk. No cop says “oh you’ve stolen, I will shoot you now”, but if they tell you to put your hands up and you just waltz to your car and reach inside, now you’ve put them at risk when you could have just put your fucking hands up, for everyone’s sake.

Because you’re picking an incident that was almost certainly accidental and using it as your main argument against something that is purposeful. Cops also get in car accidents with innocent people, but that’s not a good example to use in this context and doing so is just silly and dishonest.

So... “putting someone’s life at risk” is not actually a death penalty crime, sometimes it isn’t even a crime at all. Every time you go in for surgery, both you and the surgeon are to some degree putting your life at risk. Sending fire fighters to do their jobs is putting their lives at risk.

Now, in the totally disingenuous way you are using the phrase... those cops are still making choices. They can still de-escalate. They can take cover. They can flee and lose their jobs. They almost always choose to escalate.

The way you make it sound, the cops have been strapped into a car that’s careening down a very steep hill instead of being in a situation that they have created themselves by choice.

And the cases where they *did* put their hands up or were already handcuffed? Why does no one ever think that cops should just shoot people in the knee if they "gear for their lives"?

There’s a big difference between a dangerous individual using deadly force against the public and the same individual once he has been subdued by police.

Why can these people admit they just want black people dead? I have meet a few in person that honestly told me that things would be better if blacks didn't exist here or anywhere. Kid you not they say that the world would be peaceful and that crime would vanish. So I don't understand why they get defensive if they are called out for being bigots the bigots before them were a lot more honest with their hatred for blacks.

Newsflash you willfully blind dipshit: Cops are supposed to de-escalate tense situations , not escalate them. They shouldn't be given a permission slip to shoot anything that moves as soon as they encounter the slightest bit of hostility.

Not to mention many (if not most) of the black people killed by cops weren't even suspects let alone threats to the officers safety.

Also why do assholes like this guy always think that every (black) person killed/abused by cops is a hardened, crack-smoking violent felon with a mile long rap-sheet that mindlessly attacks anything that moves?
