The problem is that, of course, some people twist Gina Carano’s firing for those bigoted statements as, once again, “Disney ruining Star Wars!!!”
While I admit that I don’t agree with every Disney SW decision (*cough*Rise of Skywalker*cough*), it’s stupidity like this that allows bigotry and other stupidity to fly under the radar, and that’s very dangerous. It makes people not think twice about Gina’s statements that led to her firing…
Just like how there’s now a**holes spreading the rumor that “Brie Larson is cast in SW as a Jedi stronger than Luke and Vader combined!!!”, and now once again the Fandumb Menace is yelling to boycott Disney, SW, and Kathleen Kennedy. As if there wasn’t enough first world problems there…
Ignorance breeds ignorance and bigotry breeds bigotry. The only way to escape it is for some people to be smart enough to say “no”.
Anyway, just FYI, what I like about Disney SW: Mandalorian, Rebels, Clone Wars, Fallen Order, Squadrons, High Republic, Rogue One, numerous novels, characters like Ahsoka, Maul, Hera, ships like the MC85 & Resurgent-class, etc…
What I don’t like about Disney SW: Sequel trilogy and era (specifically how it’s handled) & lack of more new ship designs (even if they were lazy, what’s stopping them from canonizing the Viscount-class or the Eclipse-class?).
