Just reinforces an observation I made years ago. There are no inherently wrong acts to a fundamentalist, there are wrong groups. Association makes morality, not the intent or the result.

Actually it is entirely legal for an adult to marry a child in most states with the parent’s permission. Notably the child’s consent is not a factor, and for reasons that make my brain scream for mercy if I ever try to understand them parents have forced underaged rape victims to marry their rapist and not just with religion as the excuse but the perception that their daughter (and it’s ALWAYS a girl this happens to) is a slut for being raped at 14. It’s an absolute nightmare.

I wonder if those are really old laws that most folks forgets exists but the the second someone tried to use them they get overturned very quickly... If course That's working off the assumption there haven't been a case involving this in the news.
