Fighting fascism.’ It must be so hard in the trenches, knee deep in mud, bullets flying all around you. It’s great you still find time to tweet, though.

Certain Allied troops who, when they entered certain camps and not only saw those both dead & (barely) alive wearing not only Yellow Stars of David but Pink Triangles.
And you expect us to think that what they witnessed didn’t justify even more what they’d said previously: ‘The Only Good Nazi Is a Dead Nazi’?!
Not long after Operation Overlord, a compass became a literal lifesaver as those who weren’t SS threw away their guns, told the one that basically gave them those weapons to go fuck himself, and travelled in the general direction of away from the east as they rejected what had previously been their moral compass.
There must be something wrong with your own moral compass when those who had been in the film adaptations of your works rejected you, That Which Must Not Be Named.
Is everyone here lacking reading comprehension? She is not endorsing fascism. No, she is saying that, unless your political struggle takes the form of actual combat on a literal battlefield, you are not fighting for a cause, you are just a slactivist.
(Of course, she probably thought it needless to say that this standard does not apply to TERFs, and especially not to her own activities!)
PS:
She also seems to be completely ignorant of the many letters and diaries from soldiers at the front-lines of basically any war.

Sorry, but my interpretation was that she is saying that fascism only existed in the trenches of WW2. Aka only Mussolini and such were fascists and modern day far-right-wingers are not.
This seems to be a common belief in modern-day right-wingers as a means to deny they’re fascists when they most certainly are.
Maybe your interpretation is the correct one, but tbh OPs wording isn’t as clear as it should be.

I agree, except this part:
She also seems to be completely ignorant of the many letters and diaries from soldiers at the front-lines of basically any war.
No, she is aware, and that’s the point. She’s saying those people faced real hardship, unlike the slacktivists today.
She’s mockingly comparing the two.
Confused?
