From what I understand of those days, other people were sent to the camps for opposing the Nazis, but the Jews merely for being who they were.

The likes of you were beaten in WWII precisely because of Nazis having wrong opinions.

In fact, strong evidence shows that, other than partisans and POWs, “opposing the Nazis” primarily meant “lost a power struggle within the Nazi party.”
