"New Atheism" intellectually pails down to do-to-power and will-as-thou-wilt and is nothing more than old-game sub bingo packaged as such that mid-wit and middle-class "upper urbanites" can believe themselves into deluding they are essentially morally superior to the rest of us.

Why is it that when fundies try to disparage atheism, they always sound like they're talking about religion?

It's mostly projection and being loony. As well as Sam Harris saying some admittedly silly stuff, and lacking context I can only hope he was being hyperbolic.

The gist is that Harris said that Hunter Biden could literally have murdered a bunch of kids, he did not care about the laptop. Even if there was a dark rabbit hole of potential issues for Hunter Biden, and even if it connected to Joe Biden, the scope would pale to what Trump is already known to have done, so he doesn't care. Trump University as an example, is worse than what they'd find on the laptop.

With the these assholes who are hopped up on crazy delusions, they think that that small clip means "Oh yes. Sam Harris thinks Trump defrauding people is worse than ritual child rape/murder/cannibalism." Because of course that's what they assume is in the laptop.

But no, unlike for dominionism, there is no great atheist conspiracy attempting to take over governments. But the closest would be normal non-confessional education, which we know you despise, even if it doesn't attempt to convert anyone to anything. On the other hand, it would be good if more people in government were less irrational. But not only in government, in society in general. Maybe it would also help science and your country to remain relevant, much of science recently happens elsewhere. Your government may also look less like a chaotic zoo, it now even has extremists like MTG infiltrating it. Oh, and to atheists, Sam Harris is not a pope, just a person.

I don’t particularly care for New Atheism but how is that worse than raping children or committing treason? At worst, they’re annoying.

Do what thou wilt lest it hurt none is Pagan but atheists from my experience share it.

I would assume he’s referring to it in the context of the right using “WHAT ABOUT HUNTER BIDEN?” as a counter to anything related to Donald Trump.

Oh right, I didn’t agree with everything those New Atheists said, but I was DEVASTATED by Hitch’s death. However, you sound like the kind of dumb fundie to whom they are intellectually and morally superior to.

So, who cares about Hunter Biden’s laptop, it didn’t swing the election, and I imagine Sam Harris said that Q style stuff facetiously. However, there was Trump University, plus his association with Jeffrey Epstein and his jailed moll AND the 6 January traitors. Glass houses…
