Worldender666: No. You will find the special people expect you to treat them different and walk on eggshells around them. Now as your sister being family and you being 16 you do need to start finding ways to diffuse the situations and handle conflict better as you willl soon be in the work force.

I actually find the first OP to be amusing in his stupidity. Okay, even assuming that you do have a gay friend who gave you a pass, that pass is really only relevant when speaking to him and maybe your friend group, it’s not a blanket “get out of social consequences free” pass. And also, you referred to a (presumed) lesbian with a male-oriented slur? That’s certainly unusual, and weird.

As for the second, they seem to be implying that “handling conflict” means… being dismissive of others, or worse, attempting to dominate where the conversation is allowed to go. Not sure which based on this alone. Those either increase the conflict or makes less visible, and potentially drives people away when you’d rather it didn’t, which is not a productive or healthy way to “handle” things.

1. Getting a pass to use the F-slur with one gay person does not mean having a pass to use it with all gay people.

2. Do you seriously think that interpersonal-communication and conflict-resolution skills are not valuable in the workforce??

It really shouldn’t, but somehow the fact that a 16-year-old has a “burner phone” makes me feel old. And, yeah, you kinda ARE the asshole there.

First of all, you need to look up ‘diffuse’ and ‘de-fuse.’

And you’re saying he should not intentionally antagonize coworkers. Like using known slurs in the company of person(s) targeted by that slur? What a concept.

You know, you sould have know that calling your lesbian sister “faggot”, especially when she didn’t knew about your friend, would cause you issues.
