The leaders in Civilization VII are really lame. I have no idea who some of these people are. There are really smaller and lesser known people like Harriet Tubman. Is this part of the Biden Administration paying video game companies to include more DEI in their video games? Is this part of the woke mental illness?

Dude this is not even ,edia literacy 101. It's not even high school history. I've not played the games but can tell you it uses real historical figures. Is Paul doing a radical uneducation or whatever it is called on himself?

What, recognising that the lives of people who are NOT cisgender heterosexual Christian whites also matter?

We live in a Civilisation which recognises those who have shaped what society is today. But there are those that don’t like that. Reality doesn’t care about the feelings of the latter. Thus we see one example of impotent butthurt. And as there’s less than fuck all he can do about that, said butthurt is 24/7.

Thus Karen… er, I mean Paul Buggery gets what he fucking deserves.

This does seem like a mental illness emperor Paul.

I didn’t know who half of the leaders in CivVI were. Bà Triệu? Poundmaker? Gitarja? John Curtin? No idea who any of them were. But they still charmed me, and I learned things. Eleanor of Aquitane was the mother of Richard the Lionhearted. I did not know that before. Jadwiga of Poland was crowned King, not Queen. I loved that it was an opportunity to learn something about the world I hadn’t known before. I even looked up some of the cuisine suggestions some leaders offer you when you meet them. Apparently you are only supposed to eat the legs of a fried tarantula, not the abdomen. Good advice, if it ever comes up.

(Also, I love that I can play as either Wilfred Laurier or Queen Wilhemina; for a Dutch-Canadian boy like me, that tickles so right.)

The point is, don’t blame the game for your ignorance. Use it as an excuse to learn something.
