The only reason 99+% of the people you incorrectly call “groomers” would even think of claiming that MAPs are fine and normal, is the same reason why 99+% of the rest of the non-pedophile population would. Lull them into a false sense of security so they’ll feel confident enough to announce themselves publicly like this person apparently did, then let the authorities (and, maybe, a random, minor (heh) lynch mob or two) do their jobs.

Exactly! The damage these assclowns do is two fold, first people like them are potentially inciting violence against innocent people by wrongly accusing them of being paedophiles,/predators (sex crimes and crimes against children are the go-to accusation for bigots when they wanna slander a minority).
Secondly , they make it much harder for actual victims to come forward or even be believed. At this rate I'm starting to fear that actual grooming/ paedophilia allegations are far less likely to be taken seriously due to assholes like him crying wolf. By crying wolf they make it much easier for actual paedophiles to get away with their ghastly crimes.
