“Evolution is a religion that enables people to justify writing their own rules.”
NO one’s quoting evolution in Minneapolis.
But the party of God, Guns and Country are certainly writing their own rules right now, ain’t they?
Religion is a weaponized form of psychosis that enables a power-hungry subset of a certain primate species to justify imposing their own rules on everyone else, on the pretense that they are speaking for “god”, which is in reality a psychological projection serving as a glorified ventriloquist's dummy that can theoretically be exploited to justify anything.
Aleksander Solzhenitsyn spoke of “the calamity of an autonomous, irreligious humanistic consciousness” that “has made man the measure of all things on earth—imperfect man, who is never free of pride, self-interest, envy, vanity, and dozens of other defects”.
The problem is that, for better or for worse, Protagoras was right: man, as a collective of imperfect individuals, really is the measure of all things. There’s simply no way around it. Setting up a supposedly perfect “god” as the measure is utterly futile in that it solves absolutely nothing, because a “god” never deigns to speak for itself (which is extremely convenient for its self-appointed spokespeople), and no one can ever give definitive answers to the obvious questions: which god, which prophet, which revelation, and which interpretation thereof?
Evolution is a religion
And considering how the IRS regards Islam and even $cientology as religions with tax exempt status, you can either (check one):
[ ] Start unchaining your wallet and pay what’s due to we who accept Evolution as fact
[ ] The IRS enforces their rules on those who don’t regard themselves as a religion but instead have ‘A personal relationship with Jesus’: thus have to unchain their wallets and pay their part of the nearly $17 quadrillion in back taxes owed by Christianity since 1776, and in right-wing Fundamental ist Christainity’s case that totals untold trillions you - according to the rules - must pay to The Man.
Choose wisely, Hambone.
