I treat “Christian” and “Christine” as two different characters in a way. While Christine does have some funny moment, she’s gotten both depressing, disturbing and often boring.
Christian was consistently hilarious due to basically being the archetypical stereotype of the “Goofy geeky incel manchild”. His late father was a great foil and many of the various “Sagas” played out like some weird adventure sitcom with a cast of crazy characters.
While laughing at a disabled person being cyberbullied is beyond the pale and utterly disgusting… much of it is negated by the fact that Chris is an unpleasant narcissist loser who was warned many times not to feed the trolls and other things BUT REFUSES TO LISTEN! The whole thing was about schadenfreude against an unpleasant person who was full of themselves independent of their disability… even other folks with even worse Autism can be sweet people who know better!
That said, there is a side of me that is still concerned for Christine and wishes she’d wake up. Her life must be pure despair, right now. Barb has racked up a bunch of debt, remortgaged the house and hasn’t payed off that. When Barb dies, Chris would be homeless or put in a special home.
I guess the best one can do is just raise money to pay off all of Barb’s debts, have Barb give the house to Chris in her will and have someone come over to Chris’ house to regularly check on Chris and teach basic home-care skills. There’s no sense in trying to change Chris’ character or undo all her delusions but if one can instill some basic housekeeping skills, that’s the best one can do. Chris will never change nor get a job and, quite frankly, could never get or keep a job, now. One can’t force Chris to be “normal”.
KF is a mixed bag to me. I don’t like their kink-shaming and transphobia. I also think some of their targets are merely being made fun of for being eccentric. I prefer they go after weirdos with terrible character only… Like pedos and NeoNazis and other losers.
I do commend them for going after monsters like Nick Bate (One sick mammajamma, right there), “Daddy of Five” or those weird parents who drug up and exploit their mentally-ill kids as well as recently trying to help Chris-Chan (even raising money after the house fire or trying to protect her from incredibly monstrous trolls like ‘The Idea Guys’ or Jacob Sockness).
Heck; Jakob Sockness deserves all the derision he gets (though his antics were poetic-justice for Chris’ treatment of Megan).
But when they make someone a LOLcow because they’re oddball, transgender (they have a section on Contrapoints, for crying out loud) or have a weird fetish (even a gross one like scat or farts)… they totally lose me.
