Funny, because at the time, you already had robust communities from Asia, plus the former slaves, already living in the US. Plus, I might add the Irish and Italians were considered as little better than African-American people.

To reinforce what @Indicible says, Slavery was abolished before then by William Wilberforce and Abraham Lincoln.

All of these "others" have a choice to return to a nation of "their people". Whites are considered evil (not equal) for wanting the same thing.
So go back to Northern Europe. No one's stopping you.
(On this side of the Atlantic, that is. Modern Europeans may not be especially welcoming.)
