Even the Black plague ran its course, so we really need to learn from history!

Even the Black plague ran its course
Uh…
The plague was the cause of the Black Death that swept through Asia, Europe, and Africa in the 14th century and killed an estimated 50 million people. This was about 25% to 60% of the European population.
Yup, we have learned from history that pandemics come and go, that some kill many and others are less deadly. We have learned that we need to contain it as much as possible in the first phase, and then keep from spreading the disease as much as we can, when it gets out into the public. We HAVE learned a lot; we just have to IMPLEMENT what we have learned.
The Black Plague killed off between 30% and 60% of Europe’s population. It took 200 years before the population was back to the level before the plague.
Yes, and the Black Death and the Spanish Flu only ended after causing massive casualties, in times when travel was far faaaaaaaaar more limited then it was today.
THIS IS SERIOUS, OKAY!? My country is in utter lockdown and it’s already losing complete control over the pandemic because NOBODY here took it seriously enough until it was way too late!!! Neither our government nor our citizens!! I beg everyone not to make the same mistakes we Belgians and Italy did! Show discipline and do NOT go outside if it’s not necessary, limit contact to the absolute minimum , and for the love of god have proper hygiene !!
Japan and China are getting it back under control. We all can too. But we HAVE to work for it to minimize all damage until it has reached its peak.
This is how it ended:
