people who embrace "anti-disinformation campaigns" are openly labeling themselves as "I am too stupid to discern the truth by myself."

Or, y'know, they are seeking truth, facts, and not believing propaganda
There are decent and unreliable sources. On various topics there are renowned authorities and charlatans. This reminds me of "do your research". It may mean falling on misinformation and disinformation and getting radicalized, or the clueful consultation of reference material from reputable sources, after informing oneself about what sources are actually relevant. You don't consult misleading anti-vaccine activists and conspiracy theorists about vaccines, there are relevant official reputable health bodies. You don't consult a conspiracy theorist or random personality about things that matter, except about their own personal opinion. You don't consult post-truth Trumpists on matters of reality. When necessary, you recognize bullshit and reject it as such. Unfortunately, there are huge general distrust conspiracy theories political trolling campaigns to confuse and scare people. Fortunately, some experts also track, document and fact-check those. Finally, those who fall in the "know it all" narcissistic elitist trap stop learning and become irrelevant.
Confused?
