I figured, at first, that it was going to be something like a crappy “Christian Romance Novel” that I read a long time ago (when I was a ‘holy-roller’) where the protagonist ends up marrying a wealthy, moody jerk middle aged guy she doesn’t know in an arranged marriage (rather than the sweet young man she was already seeing who she knew for life). The book treated it as a noble thing she had to do and the previous boyfriend isn’t heard from again. I wanted to strangle the author!

Then I read the rest of the OP’s entry and I get a bunch of junk involving modern-day ChristoFrum eschatology. So does Jesus become the “old rich guy” in this? There’s really nothing to go on in the description.

The fact that homophobes rarely rag on Lesbians seems to show that the roots of homophobia are misogynistic. The two are related. Women are considered “inferior” so whatever stuff they do with each other means little since they’re “weirdos” with “foolish little lady brains”. However; Anything that involves men taking the “subordinate” role in being the “catcher” like a “woman” is seen as degrading and shameful (and the ‘pitchers’ getting heat for facilitating such ‘perversion’).

Even the alleged homosexual-friendliness of ancient Hellenic and Roman cultures was only limited to guys of higher status who “topped” guys of lower status (or young boys). Otherwise; They were somewhat homophobic, too. Two men of equal status being in love was seen as really weird.

This also explains why homophobes don’t see Thebans (gay males) and think it’s the “manliest expression of masculinity and masculine love ever! No ladies allowed! Just nothing but man stuff!”.

I still hold to my concept of certain faith-based moral laws becoming obsolete over time due to factors rendering the reason those laws were made moot. All those sex laws were written in a time when medicine and contraception was very primitive, Germ Theory wasn’t a thing, STIs passed around willy-nilly and paternity, inheritance and family structure was VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS.

That’s why organized religions tend to be somewhat sex-negative or sexually restrictive…it was a matter of life and death in an ancient, primitive, savage era when everybody was chill with solving all disputes with “Put a sword in ‘em” and “Human Rights” was an alien concept. The same goes for dietary laws and circumcision.

Now that Human Rights, better hygiene, better medicine, better knowledge, better contraception, better knowledge of non-violent conflict resolution, etc. are a thing, many prohibitions can be simply ignored and focus put of teaching promoting love, charity and not hurting others.

But many STIs are treatable, curable, preventable; Contraception is more sophisticated, DNA tests can discover “who’s the daddy” and social structures vary. Stuff like flogging may be in The Quran but it’s no longer needed.

Another thing concerning Vaping; When people claim it’s “safer”, they’re likely referring to the vaping of actual plant material rather than inhaling steam from some propylene glycol liquid. Basically with actual tobacco/cannabis/herbs/etc. the vape gizmo heats it up enough to merely smolder but not burn (this the smoker inhales the essence but not the combustible stuff/ash/tar).

Thus; If someone wants to vape, they should avoid tobacco and anything involving liquid make from an ingredient for radiator fluid.
