Reading this quote - and considering what’s been happening since late last year - one can sense rightards’ desperation, as summed up in a scene near the end of a certain film by Paul Verhoeven:
It’s afraid… IT’S AFRAID!
And said by a character played by a gay actor. Perhaps deliberately cast in that role of an intelligence officer with more than just a superior IQ.
And as a previous film starring Peter Weller was a savage satire on corporatism, so “Starship Troopers” was the same re. a militaristic dystopia.
You’re now in a dystopia, OPs: where - after losing a war - your ‘Sky Marshal’ is now Iran’s bitch, the economy is more fucked up than ever, and a ‘Swamp’ that was supposed to be drained has now become a literal one: and not just due to hyper-corruption. And it’s not George Soros’s fault, but the orange equivalent of that confronted by Neil Patrick Harris in a film.
