No, Chris Hemsworth is an example of the trope the quotee is describing, being (probably) close to 6′4″ and looking very much like a Viking god, which is no doubt why he was cast as one. A couple of times he does have a point. Let’s face it, it’s advantageous for a man to be tall in this society. Still, that’s still not a major advantage - I am tall, and not particularly successful I’ll admit. There are shorter blokes I’ve met who’ve outdone me in every field I’ve competed in. In respect of success with women I had a 5′7″ pal from Carlisle who was an absolute ‘slayer’.

The other point is that exhortations to go to the gym or find hobbies will indeed have no effect whatsoever on someone who’s this far gone. Likewise, “just be yourself” is of little use when ‘yourself’ is a loathsome person who hates the world and everyone in it. There are only two possible solutions. One is a serious self-examination by the individual concerned to get to the bottom of what’s going on. The other, sad to say, is the individual’s death.
