I outgrew that starry eyed optimism by junior high. I have no “faith” in anyone/anything. I place no value on promises, oaths, traditions, uniforms or authority-they mean nothing to me. I haven’t had any unpleasant encounters with cops, but I’m also a naturally wary person, it’s how my brain is wired. It seems logical to me to be suspicious of someone who could legally shoot me & get away with it, although since I’m a white chick they may have a little explainin’ to do. When people start to change, I will re-consider my position. I see no indication of that ever happening. I am harsh now because I’ve spent 35 years watching people suck, & it disgusts me.
