I... actually agree with this. I personally do not stigmatize pedophilic feelings granted that these feelings are kept to oneself and never acted upon. I'm just saying that people shouldn't be denied a job because of their thoughts. You could very well teach teenagers or adults instead of children, but many teachers are good teachers because their styles work well with their students. A great elementary school teacher may not be a university professor.

I think it is a combination of many factors, the largest being that the world governments simply don't know enough about them to disclose much of anything. Anything they disclose will only open the door for many, many more questions... questions they don't have the answers to. Also, I think our governments have acted with hostility (or, at the very least, xenophobia) toward them when they have tried to visit us. Their level of technology would have to be so advanced, I just don't see how they could travel from distant stars only to crash in Roswell,NM (right near an air force base, at that.) It is much more likely that our governments have intercepted and brought down a few of these craft in some clever manner that the aliens didn't anticipate.
I believe we've been less than diplomatic with them what times they have appeared, due to strict military and safety regulations on air space. We've chased them around with fighter jets, shot at them, etc. I think the governments don't want to admit that they've potentially offended these obviously technologically superior beings. To admit this would undermine their authority and only bring attention to the fact that they've botched every attempt at first contact. There one undeniable fact: The distances involved in interstellar travel make it absolutely impossible to travel from one star system to another in any conceivably practical time span using any type of power source humans have conceived of up to now, including nuclear. Therefore, any aliens visiting us would be using a power source far beyond anything we have. Such a power source by definition would seem to violate our current understandings of physics.
The confirmed existence of alien visitors would, by direct implication, also confirm the existence of such a power source. This fact would no doubt be overlooked by the majority of the world’s population. But there is a significant number of people who have enough of a understating of physics that they would recognize the energy implications of catapulting a ship across stellar distances. Their curiosity would be piqued.
Once the possibility of such technology is proven by the existence of interstellar travelers it would only be a matter of time until humans acquire the same technology. Humans can be incredibly determined, sooner or later, either by deduction, subterfuge or even outright theft, someone would duplicate the technology. Once such technology was developed or copied the world economy would be turned on its head overnight. Many of the worlds rich and powerful would no longer be rich and powerful. When considering this, I highly doubt that we will ever have disclosure in my lifetime.

I always talk shit on here, but in real life things are more or less the same for me. I smile, I shake hands, I exchange small talk, and then I go about my business, and yes most of the time with White people. During some of these interactions, if they go particularly well, I start to forget about identity politics and daresay, actually start having a positive perception of White people. I begin to think of them as human, and people capable of kindness and love towards others. Yeah I know, it's crazy. But thankfully, that perception never lasts though, since I always think about the injustices committed against us, and that always leads me to dull my empathy for them. Then I realize that the White person I just had a positive interaction with is probably thinking mad racist thoughts behind my back and probably wants me dead, at that point I'm back to fully hating White people. After all, with some exceptions would I ever be stupid enough to think that the majority of White people think I'm a human being with a right to live, or they as a race are capable of love and kindness? I'll say yes if I want to end up dead somewhere down the line. I go through that cycle many times and really, I guess in general now life for a POC should just be professional and respectful in real life, but keep in mind that the person you're interacting with is holding a dagger behind their back so you should do the same. Some would say this thinking is not particularly healthy, but hey, who said survival was pretty?
