[Context: Drinker is once again replying to someone on Twitter who posted an image of a man in a woman’s clothing asking “Men, what’s stopping you dressing like this?]
I see no men in this picture.

Drinker being a sexist asshole once again… What I find so crushingly hopeless about him in particular and the reason I come back to him often is the fact he’s both so fucking big at this point on YouTube despite both the shitty quality of his reviews and his bigotry, and the fact no one was made a single great attempt to debunk or mock his idiocy yet. He’s like a giant invincible titan walking through the online landscape… I wish I had the talent and resources to try and counter his shit myself :(

I fully understand how depressing it may be that jerks like Drinker exist and use their fame and influence to be bigoted assholes to others. However, remember that for every Drinker and Rowling, there are Nostalgia Critics & Linkaras and Gaimans & Riordans respectively. The “giant invincible titan” isn’t alone, and not all the others agree with him.
Also, even the largest rock can be whittled away by small raindrops. NOTHING is truly invincible.
In most cases, deliberate misgendering isn’t about upholding bioessentialism; it’s about bullying people for not falling into narrow sex/gender norms. Thus they’re willing to call anyone “a man”, “not a man”, “a woman”, “not a woman” whichever they think will hurt most, rather than what they actually believe to be true.
Of course, this can backfire, if they don’t actually know the person’s gender, or if it’s a gender-nonconforming person who considers it a compliment that they’re seen as not “properly” performing their gender.
“I see no men in this picture.”
That’s funny, as the right keeps saying ‘the left can’t tell you what a woman is.’ Drink says ‘anything in a dress is a woman in my eyes.’
Confused?
