@uranoutofluck
He's saying that men are unable to control themselves because they're predators.
FrustrateIncorp:If I drove into a poor, black neighborhood screaming the N-word in my Louis Vuitton suit and starting counting money on the hood of my Porshe, you wouldn't say I got what I deserved when they beat the shit out of me and steal everything?!? You would condemn them? Console me? LIAR

But even in the quote the bird is correct and yes, you would also be in your right to not have to be beaten the fuck up and mugged for simply doing the rich asshole stuff, yelling the N words out loud, not so much, though it should still be the cops arresting you for hate speech not a mob justice. Me going to a Trumpoo rally and screaming at the attendants “Hey there y’all inbred shitheads, did you forget to bring your twelve year old lovers this time?” would still not give them a constitutional right to pump me full of bullets, much as they’d love to. Any and all arguments to the contrary assume your personal preferences outweight the laws and they should never.
Now I would not console you because I see no reason to be civil with bigoted, sexist dicks but I would absolutely condemn any sort of mob justice enacted on you.

Thing is, in the Cornell case, it’s more like you gave a lift to a friend, who drugged your coffee, then called seven other guys to go for a joyride in your car, while you were tied up in the trunk. And you’d STILL be comparing it to wilfully choosing to antagonize, berate, and anger an entire neighborhood.

Well, no, once you threw the N-bomb, I would not console you.
However.
If you were driving through town on a major artery, as a million other commuters do, with every expectation of reaching your destination, and someone on the sidewalk decided YOU deserved to be robbed, because you recently washed your car and it looks nice, and heaved a cinder block through your windshield, and seven guys raped and robbed you, yes, I would console you and pick you up at the ER so you could get home.
You SHOULD be able to expect civil behavior if you’re being civil you racist, sexist fuckstain.
You know, I finally realized what’s fundamentally wrong with the comparison. I mean, aside from the more obvious part where it’s sexist, racist, and reduces male predators to non-entities but you’re especially not allowed to point the latter out. A rich man has no reason to cruise the ghetto alone. Women can’t simply avoid environments where male predators may be lurking because that’s virtually everywhere.
I suppose one could reduce the risk by avoiding bars, clubs, and parties, or only going to such places with a bodyguard, but that doesn’t reduce it to zero, or really solve the issue, on top of making things less fair. So long as predators are largely treated as the potential victims’ individual problems rather than a societal one, no amount of solutions will do much more than change who is at most risk of being targeted and why. (Or I guess if vigilante murders of predators become common and widely excused, that will invert the permission structure, but I’m not sure that’s really an improvement.)
Confused?
