“However, though sex is meant to be experienced privately, that doesn’t mean there are no public consequences for the sexual behavior we allow as a society. There are.”
Yes. But please, please, provide an example of any consequences that are limited to the homosexual sexual experience.
“So, the next time someone says sex is merely a private act, here are three things to remember:
1. Sexual activity affects public health.”
Certainly can’t deny that, not with all the Hygiene lectures we got in the service. But those lectures focused HEAVILY on heterosexual activities. The ‘turn black and rot off of you’ stuff. So, not a good reason to disallow samesex sexy times.
"2. Sexual activity is procreative.”
I have three kids, but a LOT more sexual activity than that, which says you’re wrong. Do you mean that we don’t HAVE to allow sex that’s not procreative? Between my wife and I we’ve had 1 vasectomy, 1 hysterectomy, and 1 menopause (Not in that order), and we’re still having sex. So IFF that’s your reason for #2, you can fuck all the way off no pun intended.
“3. Our sexual experiences affect our mental health and deeply shape our character.”
I was a bubblehead for four years before losing my virginity, and sixteen years afterwards. THAT experience was mostly non-sexual, but shaped my character far more than any sex did.
But more to the point, you would have to actually prove that the characters of practicing homosexuals is universally and drastically different from the repressed individuals’, and that it’s worth two shits to force one side or the other.
