There used to be the idea that if a woman is raped, she’ll fall in love with her rapist. While this kind of thing does happen on rare occasions (and is deeply messed up when it does), it’s really not normal. I would not be surprised if that went through a few generations of telephone games and morphed into… this. Like how “only 30% of your brain is in a highly active state when you’re at rest and not thinking” became “you only use 10% of your brain”.
I’ve never heard of sexual abuse changing anyone’s orientation, unless you count bi people swearing off one gender due to trauma. Which would be, effectively, straight rape turning people gay/lesbian.
