Remember: These people know Trump is a threat to democracy and see it as a feature, not a bug, despite whatever mental gymnastics they may use to deny this to themselves and others. They’re practically frothing at the mouth for a fascist dictatorship. If you encounter them in person, call them out.
My best guess, based on what I’ve seen, they’ve heard the left talking about “two tiers of justice”, and instead of taking the time to find out what we mean by it they made something up, as usual. It this case they decided it means that we’re pushing to use the law as a political weapon against Trump, his cultists, and those adjacent. To the limited extent that this *appears* to be true, it’s a situation of their own making - stop_breaking_the_law_asshole.gif - and once this kind of brain rot gets established, any attempt to correct their misunderstanding becomes “revisionism”, because revising what they really meant when they said a thing that is now inconvenient to have been said is totally what they would do.
