I have an idea. If they want to abolish the Department of Education, they should rename it to the Department of Patriotism and name the building the Charlie Kirk Building. The department can be focused on teaching American youth about the importance of loving our country.

That includes believing that a far-above-zero number of gun deaths a year is an acceptable price to pay for being able to “use the 2nd Amendment to defend our other God-given rights” does it? Taking for granted that YOU will never become a gun death?

Yes, that would be roughly equivalent to abolishing it. Except a bit more expensive.

Perhaps the Department of Patriotism should hold an annual lottery of far right political activists to decide who will be shot in order to preserve the Second Amendment. We could call it "Charlie Kirk Day" and have a competition among NRA members to be the one to fire the fatal bullet. I'm sure we'll have plenty of far right volunteers to be the Second Amendment sacrifice.

Not that I'm bitter.
