I think I have enough experience with used cars to say that nobody really gives a shit about how many drivers a used car has had. Yeah, you’d be concerned about the miles it has (which, by the way, is generally an obvious thing to tell) and if it has had any damage, but the number of drivers really just ain’t a factor in and of itself. Just one more reason to add to the list of why this metaphor or analogy or whatever makes no damn sense.

But, hmm, hey wait a minute tho….ya know, some people like classic cars (me being one of those people lol). Sometimes an older model has a certain flair the newer ones lack! :D

There’s an small and utterly insignificant island in the river that the city was built on, now known as Strong Island…but apparently up until some time between 1942 and 1967, it was called uh….N***** Isle. Yes, as in the racial slur. I don’t know if that was the origin of the name, or if it came from something else, but I’m assuming the name was changed because it was considered offensive.

I guess I can’t really speak about university admissions, since the only colleges I’ve ever attended were community colleges where they basically take anyone with a high school diploma or GED. But anyway though, I’ve had a lot of different jobs over the years, and I certainly never had anything like “sensitivity training” that was specifically directed to white people. If any of the training I’ve had touched on race, it was always just basically saying to not discriminate against anyone due to their race. In my current job that I started almost 7 months ago, the training materials actually went into way more detail about sexual harassment and such than anything about racial discrimination.
