The Bloc Quebecois were sort of fading away during the PM of King Stephen (probably because he’d give them whatever they wanted, so they didn’t need to threaten to leave), but then Trudeau got elected. And then for some wacky reason, Quebec decided to go anti-Muslim. Not sure why. But the Trudeau government stepped in, and the Bloc had a resurgence by claiming this proved that the Canadian government only cared about controlling Quebec, and that they needed to split in order to be truly free. And the pundits here blamed Trudeau (of course), and said they should have let Quebec get on with their anti-Muslim bullshit in peace…
