The Republicans in the House selected her along with Jim Jordan and Devin Nunes to be one of the “attack dogs” designated to break rules, act indignant, and generally spout conspiracy theories during the impeachment hearings. Why? Specifically to do what Jax is doing here; claim that any attempt to censure her is “sexist” and shows “double standards”. She was censured along with Nunes because Nunes tried to hand a portion of his allotted questioning time over to her… Even though the rules states that if Nunes didn’t want to use his time, the ONLY person he could hand his time over to was the Republican counsel. And not only did the Republicans AGREE to this, but the rules were written in 2015… By Republicans. Nunes knew this, but the point was to create a stunt for Fox News to report on.

J was created for basically the same reason U was, only in reverse; the original Latin alphabet had 24 letters, which were all the letters of the Greek alphabet, plus two new ones: Y and Z. In original Latin, there were two letters which pulled double-duty as both vowels and consonants, and those were I and V. What’s their logic there?

Harper hated his inability to blow away the competition in Ontario and BC. Conservatives always win big in Alberta, so when they get a PM, they concentrate on Alberta. Same reason Mitch McConnell works to send contracts to Kentucky. As for Quebec, they DO have similar population numbers to BC, but they tend to vote for the Bloc (except for a few years ago when the NDP got more votes, though it wasn’t enough to win the PM seat). But what you have to remember is that most of Canada’s financial sector is HQ’ed in Quebec; the province controls a lot of the money for the rest of Canada. And they tend to use it as leverage when they scream.

The Bloc Quebecois were sort of fading away during the PM of King Stephen (probably because he’d give them whatever they wanted, so they didn’t need to threaten to leave), but then Trudeau got elected. And then for some wacky reason, Quebec decided to go anti-Muslim. Not sure why. But the Trudeau government stepped in, and the Bloc had a resurgence by claiming this proved that the Canadian government only cared about controlling Quebec, and that they needed to split in order to be truly free. It only took me one glance at Andrew Scheer’s platform to know I’d never vote for it in a million years; if you ran a comparison of it with the Republican Party’s platform, it’d be 95% identical.
