DLaurier, however, has unambiguously argued for the ethnic cleansing of Israeli Jews both in the past and the present. This is actually quite easy to prove, simply by searching for their old posts on FSTDT.

I think you may not be applying the same definition of ‘rationalism’ as xoài phạm here is. Think less in terms of simply reason and logic, and more in terms of power relations. What this person is getting at is that the boundaries of what is considered realistically possible and likely to be achieved in society are imposed by the oppressor. The consequence being that this sort of “realism” or “rationality” is something that leaves minorities with just breadcrumbs from the table of those who dominate society. Therefore, if the oppressed want to ever be anything more than second-class citizens, they need to disregard the arbitrary limitations imposed by either oppressors or people half-heartedly “just trying to help” these minorities, and instead go all or nothing - aim to overthrow the system that will ostensibly never treat them as equals.

I disagree with much of what this person says, but they strike me as being completely honest and genuinely holding these views.

The Armenian genocide happened during World War 1, before the founding of the Republic of Turkey. It was carried out by the non-secular Ottoman Empire (though of course modern Turkey still denies the genocide).

The Syrian Kurdish leadership has long had ties to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). While they might have some admirable ideas when it comes to social policy (hell, Rojava has been one of the brightest spots in the Middle East recently), the fact that the PKK has over the decades engaged in quite a lot of terrorism in Turkey is undeniable. Many Turks died - both troops and civilians.
Don’t get me wrong - I’m not saying Turkey is just innocently defending itself from terrorists (former or current). Hell, the Turkish state’s handling of Kurdish separatism within Turkey was brutal. And what they’re doing in northern Syria right now, whether it be largely motivated by legitimate security concerns or not, is vile.

The point is: The situation is not as simple as you paint it. The Turkish populace, as nationalistic as they may be (and they are plenty), are not a bunch of monsters. There’s a long history of bad blood between them and the Kurds, as well as fears associated with that. Their concerns may be excessive, their solutions to them clearly morally wrong, but they are not motivated by just some sort of malice.

More or less, from what I know. But do note that the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was a very free country for the nobility - it didn’t offer much care or protection for those of ‘lesser stock’. It was a highly decentralized state, so even if it did promise certain liberties, it couldn’t necessarily enforce them (unless the local noble lord decided to do so).

1) How exactly does having a command economy even relate to social tolerance, let alone promote it? You’re comparing apples and oranges.
The Soviet doctrines on ethnic minorities certainly were exported to other socialist countries, but as a feature of general Soviet-style Marxist-Leninist ideology, not as a specific subset of economic policy.

2) I’m not sure the PRL was the most tolerant iteration of Poland. It’s something that might maybe be true in some aspects, but… consider at least the following:
