My guess is that they associate “mutable” with “fickle”. As well as thinking that if God, as a being and sole font of Good, is immutable, then its antonym must signify something Evil.

Except...God is mutable. The Daughters of Zelophehad in Numbers 27 convinced God to adjust his laws. I know there are things like God’s antediluvian regret about creating humanity brought up for this as well, but Numbers 27 is an example of externally-caused change, rather than internally.

Blond hair just isn’t comely to me, compared to brown. I like the contrast between light skin and dark hair and eyes. Then again, I doubt they’d hearken to an Irish/Polish like myself, regardless of my blue eyes and strawberry blond hair.

But try going to, say, Sweden and say that only blonde is good. Note that the pop group ABBA expected Anna-Frid, the brunette singer, to get more attention, on account of brown hair being an exotic thing in Sweden.
