Fun Fact: The subjects honoured in Black History Month are vulnerable to veto by representatives of the white majority who might find the implications confusing or offensive. Colin Kaepernick, who you probably brush off and diminish by focusing on his sports career rather than his civil rights activism which in turn you would also twist into something your narrative finds more convenient, is one such person blacklisted for being "divisive" and by the same body who at roughly the same time was defending the continued veneration of the Confederacy.
The achievements of men like Elijah McCoy, whose simple change to engine lubrication mechanisms simplified maintenance drastically cutting the costs and need for downtime particularly a boon for the locomotive industry, are taken for the glory of the history of their country. To which "Black" history is pointedly treated as entirely separate and the false assumption is encouraged that every idea of note belonged to the white majority unless explicitly stated otherwise. For example, every facet of the growth of the railroad which was dominated by white industrialists credited as though they personally built the machines while offering no recognition at all for the large numbers of barely paid horribly mistreated non-whites who laid the tracks and often died needlessly.. But going out of the way to make that statement and pointing out that minorities clearly share in that history claimed to be "white" achievement is met with cries of "you're not special" and treated as divisive.
So maybe chew on that for a bit. Oh, and while I'm certainly willing to believe there are black students weary from knowing ahead of time their education is going to be treated like a fraud conviction by many employers I'd suggest a second look at who keeps shutting down schools and mocking the need for science versus who is complaining about both those things and what their respective voting bases look like (or honestly looking at Betsy DeVos and all the well deserved hatred she gets) but you weren't really being honest about anything else so far so I guess I should chalk that up to you just continuing the pattern of willful disinformation and dependency on other white people not giving any kind of a shit as long as their ego is satisfied.
