1. It's more about being angry that people not only believe the deity is morally justified, but a belief in said deity makes their blatant disregard for morally correct behavior alright. And we can dislike a character for their traits without believing they are real.
And seek out something I don't think is real? Are.. are you dim?
2. Atheism =/= evolution. But it is pretty demonstrable, you just kinda look over facts and dismiss them.
3. It's the absence of belief... in a god or gods. And how does that follow?
4. Non-sequitur. There is evidence for the theory of evolution, and no evidence for deities in general. And humans are animals.
5. Not willing to be brainwashed =/= not thinking freely.
6. Could be true for some people, but certainly not the case in myself or anyone I know.
7. Being sympathetic for good religious people =/= sympathy for the beliefs themselves. Some belief systems are just more egregiously immoral than others.
8. Certainly could be the case with some people, but more an exception to a rule. (The taking things as gospel, not disliking close mindedness.) And using a celebrity's good argument or line of reasoning doesn't really count for this. Plus this isn't really in line with point 5.
9. I think all holy books are bullshit for a variety of reasons. Because none can meet a certain criteria, they are all dismissed. I'm willing to be proven wrong, but that's now how I, or anyone else I would think, decides holy books are trash.
10. I actually get along well with my parents. I'm sure lots of atheists do. And I imagine that for those that don't, it's being an atheist that made more issues than when they were religious.
