The hearing in question wasn’t about trans people at all; Cori Bush was trying to find a way to say “everyone who can give birth” without implying that only cis-women fit in that group. The reason transgenderism is even being mentioned is because that’s the angle conservative news has decided to go with for attacking her; that’s she’s “disrespecting mothers” with her “excessive wokeness” to “pander to transgender women”.
