Eighty books in high school library stacks are corrupting students with tales of abortion, homosexuality and atheism. That's according to a West Palm Beach mother who has appealed to the school board to remove the books from the shelves of Dreyfoos and Royal Palm Beach high schools.

Laura Lopez has been fighting since September to ban these books that she says "promote sin and lies."

In her appeal, she quotes scripture and blames the Columbine school shootings, drugs, bullies, teenage pregnancy and other ills on what she considers the removal of God from schools.

She targets literary genres ranging from reference books to short stories. Among the books she wants removed are "Medical Ethics: Moral and Legal Conflicts in Health Care," "Warriors of God: Richard the Lionhearted and Saladin in the Third Crusade," "Coping When a Parent is Gay" and "The Cider House Rules," a John Irving novel about a rural doctor who runs an orphanage and performs illegal abortions.

Lopez said the book challenges stemmed from a basic interest in the types of books in her sons' school libraries.

So, she went to the computerized card catalogue and typed in the keywords "homosexuality," "abortion" and "atheism." She was shocked by the dozens of titles that popped up.

"My kids are going to school to learn, not to become a homosexual or an abortion doctor or an atheist," she said.

In her objection to "Am I Blue?: Coming out from the Silence," a collection of 18 short stories about gay and lesbian issues, Lopez wrote: "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, and not Eve and Sue."

Fort Lauderdale’s Republican Mayor Jim Naugle wants to spend a quarter million dollar on a robotic toilet that is supposed to make it more difficult of horny gays to have public sex on the beach.

“We’re trying to provide a family environment where people can take their children who need to use the bathroom,” he said, “without having to worry about a couple of men in there engaged in a sex act.”

The proposed location for the toilet is the world-famous gay beach Sebastian Beach, where the high-tech toilet will allow occupants to stay inside for only a short period of time before the door opens. Naugle thinks this will prevent the “homosexual activity” that he said plagues other public restrooms.

Naugle also said, “I don’t use the word ‘gay.’ I use the word ‘homosexual.’ Most of them aren’t gay. They’re unhappy.”

Fort Lauderdale police say sex in restrooms is not a problem in the city. “There’s no evidence, no reports or arrests made for any men having sex in any restrooms,” said Sgt. Frank Sousa.

But still the mayor thinks it is. “Public restrooms are pickup places for “homosexuals. ... They’re engaging in sex, anonymous sex, illegal sex,” he said.

I have seen/heard/read about many individuals whose licentious lifestyle led them to a state of complete immorality (meaning they didn't care who they slept with, so long as it fulfilled their inner cravings).

How do you know Jesus never mentioned it? He mentioned lots of things in a more general way, and not everything He said is recorded in the Gospels. John wrote that if everything He said and did were recorded in books there wouldn't be enough books in the world to hold it all. There were not many homosexuals around either, and it was common knowledge that it was forbidden. Homosexuals were executed then, so almost no one in Israel was misbehaving that way. There are several passages that allude to it though, that's what abominators are and they don't go to heaven. Homosexualism is depravity, and is forbidden. I can't help it if you don't want to believe it, it's true nevertheless, and you'll just have to deal with it.

For instance, I have a friend who's dog tries to hump her everytime she is on her period by thrusting around her crotch and legs. I kid you not. So would it be wrong if they made doggie love?

But after being born again, I knew immediately that homosexuality is wrong. But the deception to believe that its okay and normal is very intense. Not to mention the fact that there is very strong support for people to "come out" as homosexuals. If they do come out, there is a huge sense of family, community, support and solidarity. Homosexuality a sin of abomination (at least in many religions anyway). Love and lust, there is a difference. Love is unconditional, lust is . . . well covetousness. Just because there are homosexuals doesn't mean God put them there. God didn't 'put' sin in this world, but merely allowed sin's existance so we could see the consequences of sin--pain, suffering, death, sickness, etc. God wasn't planning on sending anyone to hell. However, there is a point where people become unrepentant and must go to hell, and where that particular line is drawn is determined by God.

An anti-gay religious group known for protesting at the funerals of American soldiers killed in Iraq is planning on appearing at services for those killed on Monday as well.

The Topeka, Kan.-based Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), which is not affiliated with any national Baptist organization, announced plans to protest at victims’ funerals only hours after 32 people were killed in the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. They also may protest at other events on the Virginia Tech campus.

The organization, founded and led by Fred Phelps, believes the United States has condemned itself to destruction by accepting homosexuality and other “sins of the flesh.” Phelps’ daughter, Shirley Phelps-Roper, said the Virginia Tech teachers and students who died on Monday brought their fate upon themselves by not being true Christians.

I know several homosexuals and all of them aren´t happy about their sexual orientation, all of them visited a doctor-specialist because of their disease (psychiatrist, psychologist or sexuologist). Do you think that they had to pay when they visited such doctors. No, because it was paid from their medical insurance.

The Gay claims to pray and get endorsement. There are not two correct answers. Therefore we must conclude it is prayer to a different god that causes the answers to be different than Jesus (the Word that became flses and dwelt among us) tells us.

Pray to the Lord Jesus Christ, root and offspring of David and you will get the same answers every time. Pray to a pagan humanist deity and he will tell you what will give you pleasure.

The most vile tactic of homosexuals is to indoctrinate children. They come in the guise of "helping" the "confused" children make an easier transition into their "identity." What they are really doing is confusing impressionable children into making decisions that will alter their lives forever. They take kids who may have a confusion about the opposite sex, and convince them that they may have been born differently, and convince them that they may in fact be homosexual, which sets them down a path that might take decades to correct!

To me, this is a non-physical form of sex abuse, and should be treated as a crime! Children should not have to discuss their sexuality PERIOD until their PARENTS deem it is the right time!

How can they measure someones thoughts or fears about something they oppose? What if they strongly oppose homosexuality and have zero fears?

Is there a meter to detect phobia? Gays have rights. Those are easier to detect violation. If a gay wants to casually toss a label on someone as being homophobic, they are guilty by accusasation? In civil cases there must be damage. That will be hard to prove.
